22. YOUR Plan…putting it all together.

Be Loving. Love Being. Be YOU!

SO….what are you going to do now?

First Step

The First Step Is To THRIVE!

DISCOVERING YOU Activity:

1. Take some time over the next couple of days, to review what you have learned about yourself.

What are your three greatest pleasures in life?

Are you experiencing them often (enough)?

How can you create your life around these three things?

If goes without saying that these three things MUST be in your own best overall interest…if you say drinking alcohol in mass is one of your three greatest pleasures, pursuing that is probably not in your best interest. However, if it causes you to start a brewery business or a winery, it may be.

2. It may take you 21 more days to go back and DO the activities for each day.

3. Come up with a PLAN to implement your VISION.

You do not have to know all the steps to get there, just the NEXT LOGICAL STEP.

If you want to learn a new skill, say building a house, you do not have to know every thing about building a house to get started. Just do the next thing. Perhaps you do an on-line search or go to the library and get a book (yes, they still have those places).

Then…take the next, NEXT LOGICAL STEP.

4. WRITE your plan down. It does not matter how or where you do it, but you need to write it down.

Physically get a pen and paper and write it in your own hand!

There is a ton of psychology behind this one small step. Instead of having to read me regurgitating the details, just take my word for it and DO IT.

Write down you DESIRED OUTCOME and THE NEXT LOGICAL STEP to move you in the direction of what you want.

5. Share with one other person, one thing you learned from this 21 day DISCOVERING YOU challenge. It can just be a comment in passing, but sharing solidifies the experience for you.

Thrive...

12 Steps For YOU

You are a fascinating, marvelous, amazing human being.

Discovering YOU 21 Day Challenge-Day 21: Vision

Vision

You Choose…

Discovering YOU 21 Day Challenge-Day 21: Vision
21. Personal Vision…WHY are you here living this life?

Striving to remain in the present moment, allows us to enjoy the journey.

But without a destination, what is the point?

What is the overall point of your life?

Where do you want to go?

What do you want to experience?

Who do you want to interact with?

How do you want to ‘leave your mark’ on the world?

Destination

Where Do You Want To Go?

A VISION is a destination.

Having a vision, helps you to direct the direction of your life.

You can not control the wind, but you can decide where you want to sail.

Circumstances and events are ever-changing, but you choose how you will or will not react to them.

Create Your Future

Create Your Futrure

When I know where I am going, a little detour will not stop me.

I just follow the detour or select a different route and reach my destination.

If I hit bump in the road, I do not just quit and stay where I am.

I drive around it or take a different turn, but I keep on going.

I am on my way to Grandma’s for Thanksgiving and nothing is going to keep me away from her caramels, sweet potatoes and hugs!

We all need to have little goals and objectives that support our BIG Vision (which some call our purpose).

Passion Calls

Your Passion Is Your Calling To THRIVE!

It does not really matter what things are called.

We decide what they mean to us.

Purpose

Vision

Goals

Objectives

Action Steps

You define them as you like (unless you are in a corporate job or school, then your boss or professor will tell you what they mean)…and put them in whatever order that works for you.

Really YOU decide, because you are not going to be in that job or school forever.

What Want. Begin.

Begin With The End In Mind

So, do you have a VISION?

Do you know how to create your own vision?

Like any big thing, it helps to break it down into manageable chunks, sometimes.

Perhaps thinking about it in terms of major areas of life would help.

Create a vision for your health, career, relationships, money/finances, experiences/adventure, education (lifelong learning, remember that one?), emotional/well Being, etc.

It helps me to do the smaller easier pieces (things that pop right into my head and remain pretty consistent over time) first.

Then I use these to come up with my overall Vision (which make my Personal Purpose possible).

Unique You

Unique YOU

Think in terms of what you want to Be, Do and Have.

Your vision should be big.

HUGE.

Reach for the moon and include anything you can imagine.

Your vision is just for you (and like most things in your life, nobody else’s business).

It includes everything YOU want.

Please leave out all the things you do not want!

Infinite You

You Are An Infinite Being

For example:

Overall Vision:

Combine the items below to support you Purpose (reason for BEING)…

• I am living my life in a way that is uniquely me and positively impacting everyone and everything.

LoveIsAllEnergy

Love Is EVERYTHING

Purpose:

• I am here (alive) to experience life as only I can…that is MY creative contribution to the Universe.

HappyHealthyLife

Happy Healthy Life For YOU

Health:

Remember to include all types of health here: Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

• I am fit, trim and active (for my age).

• I make choices that contribute positively to my overall health and well-being.

• We are all one, so do unto others as I would have done onto me…because it is…karma.

What You Do

What You Do Is Up To YOU…Go THRIVE!

Career/Job/Occupation:

What sort of jobs or work will you do?

How do you want to spend your time?

Remember MOST folks spend the majority of their life DOING this, so pick something that you enjoy!

• I am working in a role that uses my unique skills, talents, and abilities.

• I contribute to the success of the organization and am appreciated.

• I really love my career.

• I am in charge of all areas of my career.

• Only I determine my success or failure.

Let folks BE

Love Folks As They Are

Relationships:

Family, Friends, Significant other(s), Children, Organizations/belonging (religious, political, special interest, hobbies, clubs, professional), How you interact with other human beings…

• I have two beautiful children who make me proud everyday!

• I am in a monogamous, loving relationship that allows us both to grow and BE the best version of ourselves.

• I belong to a dozen organizations that align with my beliefs and interests.

• I have a loving, supportive family.

• I have good friends in various areas of my life.

• I love meeting new people.

• I value everyone who crosses my path and look for what they have to teach me.

prosperothersFinances (money):

This is an area most underestimate what we really DESERVE.

Go ahead and envision the sky being the limit for you (because it is)

• I am a billionaire inside and out.

• I have plenty of money for all my needs, wants, and desires…this includes the ability to help others!

• Money flows to me easily and effortlessly.

• I am richly compensated for the value I provide to others.

dosomethingdifferentExperiences/Adventure:

What do you want to do?

Where to you want to go/travel?

What do you want to see?

This is another area many underestimate the importance of…we just do the same things over and over and over again…wondering why we are not happy and feeling fulfilled.

• I love experiencing new things.

• I love finding the NEW thing in ordinary and routine experiences.

• I travel at least three times a year.

• I go to one place I have never been before each year.

fixedgrowthmindsetEducation (Lifelong Learning):

Many people may not have this category on their vision list, but I believe it is very important.

Everything is always changing (energy is always in motion), so we can either choose to change with it or be at the mercy of things around us.

What do you want to learn about?

How do you want to grow/change?

What are you curious about?

What really ‘gets you going’?

How do you LIKE to learn? Hands on, reading, being shown, listening or watching something?

• I love learning.

• I love to read.

• I read at least a book a month.

• I look for the lesson in everything—every experience, each person I meet, each choice I make.

• I know that I must learn to grow…so I choose to be learning all the time, about something.

• I ask a lot of questions.

I am who I am.

I am…

Being:

Another area of Vision that I may have made up, but who do YOU WANT TO BE?

In everyday living, we often forget who we ARE.

We are all BEINGS having a human (temporary) experience.

It is easy to forget this when you are busy raising children and putting food on the table.

• I am love and light.

• I am an infinite being.

• I know anything is possible.

• I am one little piece (the most important one to me) of the whole Universe.

• Whatever I do, say, think, believe, feel…impacts the entire Universe.

• I am creating my life, so I may as well create an AMAZING one!

I use ‘I am’ statements on purpose.

When you say ‘I am’ you are presupposing whatever you are, already exists, NOW.

This is very important.

If we state things as happening in the future, we will be (forever) waiting for them to happen.

I want to…

Someday…

State things as if you have achieved them already…and VISUALIZE them that way too.

infinitebeingDISCOVERING YOU Activity:

Now it is your turn.

Create YOUR VISION (and purpose while you are at it).

If you do this exercise, both should be easy to come up with.

Overall Vision:

Combine the items below to support you Purpose (reason for BEING)…

Purpose:

This will flow from your Vision.

Act, step.

One step at a time…

1. Write three ‘I am (or similar)’ statements (in the present tense) for each category.

You can do more, of course!

Health:

Remember to include all types of health here: Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Career/Job/Occupation:

What sort of jobs or work will you do?

How do you want to spend your time?

Remember MOST folks spend the majority of their life DOING this, so pick something that you enjoy!

Relationships:

Family, Friends, Significant other(s), Children, Organizations/belonging (religious, political, special interest, hobbies, clubs, professional), How you interact with other human beings…

Finances (money):

This is an area most underestimate what we really DESERVE.

Go ahead and envision the sky being the limit for you (because it is)

Experiences/Adventure:

What do you want to do?

Where to you want to go/travel?

What do you want to see?

This is another area many underestimate the importance of…we just do the same things over and over and over again…wondering why we are not happy and feeling fulfilled.

Education (Lifelong Learning):

Many people may not have this category on their vision list, but I believe it is very important.

Everything is always changing (energy is always in motion), so we can either choose to change with it or be at the mercy of things around us.

What do you want to learn about?

How do you want to grow/change?

What are you curious about?

What really ‘gets you going’?

How do you LIKE to learn? Hands on, reading, being shown, listening or watching something?

Being:

Another area of Vision that I may have made up, but who do YOU WANT TO BE?

In everyday living, we often forget who we ARE.

We are all BEINGS having a human (temporary) experience.

It is easy to forget this when you are busy raising children and putting food on the table.

Be You

Becoming YOU…

2. Now write a ‘summary’ VISION statement.

You can make it as long or as short as you like.

It is YOUR vision.

Make a paragraph if you like.

Create a CHAPTER, if that works for you.

Then, summarize it into ONE overall statement.

Write it down on a piece of paper and carry it with you.

Every day.

I am

I am

3. Create YOUR PURPOSE statement.

Write that down and carry it with you too!

If you have done an exercise like this before, this will be a pretty easy activity.

If you have not, it could take you a while.

Whether you have done it before or not, this is one of those things that should be revisited regularly.

Once every couple of years for sure…

So much of our lives is spent unconsciously, just going with the flow and being impacted by what is happening around us.

It is time for each of us to take back our lives.

Be present.

Be in charge of your own life.

Be Loving.
Love Being.
Be YOU!

Discovering YOU 21 Day Challenge-Day 20: Gratitude

Awake

I AM THRIVING!

Discovering YOU 21 Day Challenge-Day 20: Gratitude
20. Gratitude, Thankfulness, Appreciation…

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Discovering You… is about understanding what makes you happy and enjoying your life.

Times of change and transition can be viewed as either a pain or a pleasure.

As I navigate my way through a very big period of change, it helps to count my blessings…and they are MANY!

Normally, I do not compare myself to others, but when it comes to being grateful, it is sometimes helpful.

As part of my current transition, I am getting the house I have lived in with my family (and all the accumulated stuff) for 25+ years, ready to sell.

Certain people in my life (some on their way out) call my treasures names (that start with s, but not as kind as ‘stuff’).

Everyone has advice, thoughts, and opinions on what I should do, need to do…

NONE of their opinions matter—just what I believe, want and choose to do.

Instead of looking at all the things in my life as ‘junk or crap’ I have to get rid of, I prefer to see it all as things that have served me and are now available to benefit others.

Judge

Hmmmm Judge?

One of my sisters has dubbed me ‘an office supply hoarder’…

Ok, she may be right about that.

But, think of all the folks who may benefit from me having saved all those cool office supplies.

We can beat ourselves up about things from the past or we can learn from them.

I choose to learn from them and to use them to discover more about me.

What does this have to do with today’s challenge?

How does how I view excess stuff in my household have anything to do with gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation?

Like most things, it is all about our PERSPECTIVE.

Choose YOU

I choose to love Me Unconditionally!

I can choose to see anything as a gift or a burden.

• One mother looks at her children and the responsibility she has toward them as her greatest blessing.

• Another mother, in a very similar circumstance, may see only all the things she had to give up when she became a mother.

• One business owner sees competition as more businesses move into ‘his’ small town (not thankful)–there is only one small pie (fear, there is not enough for them AND me).

• Another small business owner sees opportunity, knowing that more businesses moving in means more people are coming and more business for him–the pie is infinite (more business for everyone).

• One child receives many beautiful expensive gifts for her birthday, yet storms off to her room in a huff because she did not get one ‘gadget’ she wanted.

• Another child receives similar gifts and knows how truly loved she is.

• One woman cherishes her treasures (collections of things).

• Another person considers the same things trash (too much unnecessary junk that was a waste of money).

Can you think of any examples of this from your own life experiences?

Have you ever had a problem or bad thing happen to you, that later turned out to be one of the BEST things that ever happened in your life?

Reason

What’s the reason?

Everything happens for a reason.

We have to figure out what that reason is (was)…that IS the blessing.

Every person we encounter comes into our life to show us something.

It is often something about our self.

It is often something we are unwilling or unable to see.

Have you noticed the same type people crossing your path?

This is not an accident.

People We Meet

People We Meet Are ALL For A Reason…

Here is a small example:

A friend of mine is always falling for the same type of woman. I have lost track of how many now, but that does not really matter. It is a lot.

These women are vain, beautiful, shallow, needy, ‘takers’.

He can not see it, but those around him can.

Why is he attracted to and searching out these types of woman?

Because they are trying to show him that he is NOT vain, shallow, needy or a taker!

He is just the opposite of these things on the outside and on the inside.

He does not think he is enough…so he looks to these ‘beautiful’ women to compensate and demonstrate what he thinks is missing in his life (in him).

Even if he meets a woman who is not these things and has a great heart, like him, he probably will not even notice her.

Not until he looks within and learns to appreciate/love who he already is…who he has always been…and that is always enough!

Maybe this is not a great example, but most of us know someone like this.
We shake our head every time he shows up with a ‘new one’…

Inhale Love

Love In, Gratitude Out

Think of the people who keep appearing in your life?

What are they trying to show you?

Hint: If you are judging and making comments about them…guess what?

If you are blaming and making excuses about your reaction…guess what?

LOOK IN THE MIRROR.

Mirror

Look In The Mirror & THRIVE!

Things around us and our reaction is a reflection of what we are inside.

The mirror just shows us…

Be brave enough to look and discover who you ARE!

Be grateful that you have the mental capacity to understand you.

Know how blessed you are to be alive.

Approach each moment knowing it holds infinite possibilities.

Grateful Heart

I Have A Grateful Heart & Thrive!

DISCOVERING YOU Activity:

1. Make a list of 10 thing you are thankful for (now)!

2. HANG this list where you will see it often (or better yet, carry it with you).

3. Every day, for the next 7 (just a week) days, as soon as you wake up…think of 3 things you are grateful for. Do not let your feet hit the floor until you have taken a minute to think of these things.

4. Every day (depending on what your personal schedule is), before retiring (going to sleep), think of 5 things you appreciate. It is a bonus if you can list things that happened today.

5. Approach something you ‘have to do’ today, with your ‘Gratitude Glasses’ on today.

For example:

If you have to go to work and do not LOVE your job, be thankful that you have a job to go to…many folks do not.

If you have to cook dinner and can’t think of what to make, as you peruse the pantry…be grateful that you have food and ingredients to create dinner…for many people do not have enough to eat.

If you are stressed out paying bills…appreciate those who have extended you credit. If you have to downsize your life…be happy for all the people who will benefit from the things you are letting go.

If you have a big transition…be blessed knowing you can do it—you have changed before and you can do it again…think of it as a grand adventure (always something to look forward to).

6. Notice three new things today. Appreciate that you saw them.

7. Thank one person for something today. Smile and really be grateful.

Do IT

You CAN DO It!

Notice that when you thank someone, you FEEL better.

When you appreciate, really feel grateful inside, you are positively impacting (blessing) the entire Universe. (We are all one…).

Let’s all go out and make this world a better place…it all begins with(in) YOU!

Project You

You Are THE Project

Discovering YOU 21 Day Challenge-Day 19: Personal Responsibilty

controlRmorepowertomeDiscovering YOU 21 Day Challenge-Day 19: Personal Responsibility

19. Freedom & Personal Responsibility…

This is one of my favorite topics.

Probably because like most human beings, I need to be reminded of it frequently!

So often, we go through life, making excuses and complaining.

We judge our self and others.
exactlywhereyouare
But the truth remains…we are always exactly where we are supposed to be…based on the choices we have made up until now.

Sometimes this is a very hard pill to swallow.

Personally, I am in a chaotic period of change now.

Why is it chaotic?

I have chosen for it to be.

However, everything that has led up to the required changes, has been the result of choices and decisions I have made (or did not make)!

Ok.

This reality may sting a little.

The flip side of it (and there is always a flip side because we live in a dual universe) is that I have the power to change things.
choicesyoumake
Anything and everything in my life experience is up to me.

Yet another universal truth that is often a bit hard to understand (or believe).

Like all universal truths (laws), it does not require me to believe (or understand or even know about it) for it to be true.

Universal laws and universal truths work all the time, on everyone, equally.

All human beings are impacted by Universal Laws.

• It does not matter who you (think you) are…

• It does not matter the color of your skin…

• It does not matter how educated you are…

• It does not matter how much money you have…

• It does not matter what you do for a living or where you work…

• It does not matter where you live or where you were born…

• It does not matter what you believe (religion, politics, etc.)…

• You get the idea…it just does not matter

If you are a human being, and chances are, if you are reading this…YOU ARE SUBJECT TO these laws!

You Are U.

You Are U.

Quick list of Universal Laws:

• Attraction

• Prosperity

• Consciousness

• Expansion

• Reflection

• Cause & Effect

While we are at it, we may as well be reminded of the Natural Laws.

These impact us too (whether we like it or not) , so it is wise to put them to work in our favor.

Attract

Think About What You Wish To Attract

Natural Laws:

• Perpetual Transmutation

• Relativity

• Vibration & Attraction

• Polarity

• Rhythm

• Cause & Effect

• Gender

reflect on it...

Think in stress-free ways…

Freedom is our ability to be/do/have whatever we want.

Freedom is choice.

Freedom is choice WITH responsibility.

We all have a right to choose whatever we want.

What I choose is up to me and no one else.

My choices, however, DO create results.

Those results and consequences ARE also mine…my responsibility to own and learn from.

Choices that get the results I want may be deemed successes.

I like being responsible for them.

Decisions I make that do not work out so well…those are a bit harder to take personal responsibility for.
responsible
The thing is…I ALWAYS KNOW.

• I can pretend to not take responsibility for my actions, thoughts, behaviors, beliefs…

• I can make an excuse…

• I can fib (ok, lie)…

• I can pretend ‘it’ did not happen…

• I can deny that I did/said/acted some way…

• I can blame someone or something else…

• I can claim I did not know…

• I may site ‘temporary’ insanity…

• I can (pretend) I did not mean it…

• I can say it was an accident…

• I can ignore it…

But…the truth is…I always KNOW.

Truth

Know the truth…

We may be able to hide things from other people, but we can not really hide them from ourselves.

If you ‘stuff’ something down…it will pop up eventually.

This is where stress, pain and illness come from.

Don’t believe me, do some research!

Human beings are meant to live in alignment with who they really are, inside.

Each time we make a choice that does not match up with this…it impacts us.

There is no hiding from your self.

Where ever I go, there I am!
1964833_10152279604053259_1854768506_n

If where I am, feels a bit scary.

I choose to turn the fear into anticipation and excitement for what the future CAN hold.

If where I am, feels a bit unsettling.

I choose to create ‘pockets’ of control by planning one step at a time.

If where I am, feels a bit overwhelming and chaotic.

I choose to create habits and routines that show me how much progress I am making toward my goals.

Where I am is NOT my final destination.

I remind myself of this often.

1012149_10152334883270559_262228121_n
DISCOVERING YOU Activity:

1. If you do not know already, look up and write a brief description of each of the Universal Laws.

2. If you do not know already, look up and write a brief description of each of the Natural Laws.

3. Think about how these laws have been impacting your life (so far)…just do a very quick review of your past.

4. Take a few minutes today to think about (and jot down on a piece of paper) how you can USE each of these laws in your favor.

5. Pick one thing and do it now. Not just today. RIGHT NOW.

6. Make a brief review of a recent choice you made.

What was the outcome?

Did you take responsibility for it?

Why or why not?

What can you discover about you, from this?

7. PLAN one decision or choice you make today.

OWN what you choose AND the consequences of this CONSCIOUSLY.

How does this make you feel?
